IDAlert at Barcelona Pest Control Innovation Forum

On 6 November, IDAlert partners took part in the Barcelona Pest Control Innovation Forum (BPCIF), presenting two innovative tools that demonstrate the project’s contribution to strengthening public health and vector monitoring. João Encarnação (IRIDEON) showcased the VECTRACK‑MOBVEC system, an intelligent vector surveillance solution that supports rapid response to arbovirus outbreaks. His presentation also featured the IDAlert project.

Tomás Montalvo (Barcelona City Council) delivered a talk on « Innovación en la vigilancia y control de vectores urbanos: nuevas tecnologías al servicio de la salud pública », highlighting the role of citizen science through Mosquito Alert.

The event also featured the presentation of two key IDAlert tools: EpiOutlook, developed at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, which supports early warning and forecasting of infectious disease outbreaks, and an optical mosquito detection and identification sensor developed by IRIDEON.

Organized by ADEPAP, the BPCIF provided the perfect opportunity to engage pest control and environmental health professionals, encouraging collaboration and knowledge exchange around technology-driven solutions to combat vector-borne diseases.
